January has been a very interesting month. Not only have I been busy writing new music, but I’ve also been revisiting a few old projects, networking furiously, and generally trying to keep myself as active as possible.
As part of that “busy-ness”, I’m always looking to improve the way I reach out to people, and in finding new ways of getting my music heard. To this end I’ve recently become a big fan of SoundCloud.
I’ve actually had a SoundCloud account for some time, but had not made much use of it up until now, but after reading a few articles, and particularly this one, I was so inspired that I’ve actually gone and redesigned my website frontpage to include the wonderful HTML5 playlist widget that SoundCloud provide to everyone, even those on a free account!. If you want to find new music by me in the future, then this should definitely be your first port of call, and “following” me on SoundCloud will ensure that you are the first to know when I upload any new music!
So, what have I been up to in the week or so since my last post? Well, I like to challenge myself, and I’ve recently been trying (and will continue) to write some pieces that I would say lie outside my “comfort-zone” as a composer . The most recent result of this experimentation I present to you now, my attempt and a 40′s style Big Band number, I hope you enjoy it.
Please feel free to leave any comments on the track either here or on the track itself at SoundCloud, I look forward tor reading then and answering any questions you may have about the piece.
Terry
