Nigel and Katrina - A very special wedding.July 3rd 2011 was a special day for two people I know very well. My close friends Nigel and Katrina had approached me a few months beforehand to inform me that they were planning on getting married in the very near future, and they also asked me at that time if it would be possible for me to write a piece of music for their special day. The idea they had was that this piece was to be played after the wedding ceremony itself, when the bride and groom were preparing to leave the church, followed by their guests, and it was to symbolise the bond of union between the newly wed couple, and their hopes and dreams for the future. Of course I thought this was a wonderful idea, and did actually begin writing a main theme at the time. However, due to work on other projects taking precedent, and also my being out of the country for a month during May/June, I didn't actually get to sit down and write the majority of the score until just a couple of weeks before the wedding itself. This wasn't really a problem however, as the work I had done on the main theme previously meant that once I got into my writing "zone", the music pretty much wrote itself, and it was then just a case of making sure that the recording and mixing for the final CD that was to be used during the ceremony was of as a high a quality as I could muster. As this was a piece written for friends, I was of course nervous as too what they would think of the final result, even more-so as Katrina had specifically stated that she did not want to hear the music at all until the day itself, as she wanted it to be a surprise! Thankfully, they seem to be very happy with the final result, and it is now my pleasure to present the music here, accompanied by a video slideshow of various photos from the wedding day (many thanks to Nigel and katrina for permission to use these photos)... enjoy. :) |

Estende Green - A History with a FutureFirst performed on March 25th 2006, this community project was the result of a collaboration between myself, filmmaker Nigel Bird and St. Andrew's Church in Eastern Green. With the involvement of the local community; both the regular church members along with the parents and children of the nearby St. Andrew's Infants School, we set out to create a unique history of Eastern Green, mixing both traditional play techniques, and modern audio/visual technologies. This section demonstrates the use of video segments in the play's construction, as both a narrative/information device, and as a method of linking the more traditional play elements together. |

Pablo and the Palette People. This was a project I was involved with way back in 1992. Originally intended to be a promotional trailer to attract funding for a children's TV series, it unfortunately never came to fruition. The equipment at my disposal at the time was extremely limited (a four note polyphonic Bontempi MIDI keyboard for sounds, and a Atari 520ST for sequencing if I recall correctly), as I was only a student on a very low budget. |

Trouble and Strife.I was commissioned to write the music for this particular animation in 1993. The final video formed part of a large "History of Coventry" exhibition, designed to illustrate the way in which Coventry had grown over the centuries, eventually becoming one of the busiest industrial centres of England by the mid 20th century. It ran at the Herbert Art Gallery and Museum in Coventry for many years. |
